Seawatching

The ranger had organised a seawatch off Strathy Point last night and we were in luck - two minke whales feeding, a pod of 15-30 common dolphins (too far away to count accurately) and a small pod of five or six Risso's dolphins which swam right up to the east side of the point where we were sitting:

Hi, I found this blog looking for details on Drumhollistan for my blog after a cycle out there.

Surely this wasn't the weather out in Strathy?

Hi Alec - amazingly, yes it was! It chucked it down for most of the day, but by 4pm it was sunny and we were watching from 5 until 7. One of those really lucky days :o)

Well caught Caro.

You jammy dodger, Caro! I had intended to cycle out to Strathy, but made it only as far as the border with Sutherland before turning back in disgust.

PS You and Jamie may find further fame by following the links to Daily City Photo on my truly awful blog.
